About Me

I have recently joined the NeroElevate team as a Dyslexia Assessor and am privileged to have a job that can make a such a difference to people's experience of education. I have been a schoolteacher for around 25 years, both in England and overseas; I have worked with learners of all ages, from primary up to adults. When my own son was diagnosed with dyslexia aged 13, after huge struggles learning to read and write, I saw the difference his diagnosis and support made to his confidence and learning. I decided that I wanted to train as specialist teacher and diagnostic assessor so that I could also make a difference to learners. I feel passionately that, with the right support, specific learning difficulties can be a 'superpower' that shouldn't stop anyone from achieving their goals in life. My son has gone on to higher education and is studying for a masters degree now, so it goes to show that you can go on to achieve your full potential with a little extra support! Our company can offer remote dyslexia assessments for people aged 8 years to adult, as well as identifying Dyspraxia/DCD and ADHD characteristics in people over 16 years of age (suitable for DSA applications). There are face-to-face options for York and Leeds - please get in touch to find out more. https://www.access2learn.co.uk/neuroe/
