I use various programmes depending on the age and needs of the student. I also include writing skills, stories, creative writing and, for older students, study skills. During the first few lessons, I carry out an assessment of the student's literacy in order to help with planning their programme. I repeat this assessment every six months to show the progress that the student has made and to help plan future support.

After every lesson, I email both the parents/carers and any nominated teachers. This allows class teachers to follow up the same teaching in school.
