Dyslexia is recognised as a disability that gives rise to Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the Disability Act 2014

In September 2014, the UK Government introduced a new system to fund support to children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Information about what is on offer from the different Local Authorities in Yorkshire for children and young people who have Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) is available on their websites.

Every school must publish a copy of their SEN policy, which should include dyslexia, on their website.  This is sometimes difficult to locate.  A copy could be requested from SENCo at school.

Here are the Local Authority website details for our region.
